It gets harder and harder to verify what is true and what is false in reference to news today. Normally to try and verify as much as I can, I would usually look at several news sources to see if they are all on the same page. If they seems to be reporting different information, I will look further into the info via social media sources. Now on the other hand, If i were reporting the news, I would call the subject of the report or someone close to the subject I am reporting on and try to verify as much info as possible.

Today's society isn't as forthcoming with information as they once were...Most news sources, even the big sources such as Fox, CNN still have problems verifying and getting the proper information out. There are a lot retractions printed these days. I believe the retractions come as a result of social media. With Fb, Twitter and IG, people put information out there before it is verified more often than not. For example, celebrity death hoax.  so this is truly the age of be careful what you say. Verify everything before you push that information out there.
